Dutch oven Cooking Workshop, Saturday, May 25

     Food cooked outside always seems to taste best, as long as you know some basic techniques.  A Dutch oven cooking workshop will be held at Hobbs State Park – Conservation Area on Saturday May 25th from 9 AM – 1 PM.  The workshop will be taught by Park Assistant Superintendent Jay Schneider at the Hobbs visitor center on Hwy 12 just east of the Hwy 12/War Eagle Road intersection.

Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ “Man of Steel” in theaters nationwide before the film’s official release. This program marks the first time in entertainment history that a studio has partnered with a retailer to provide such an opportunity for fans.

This week is celebrated as Healthcare Week. In addition to this, today also marks National Employee Health and Fitness Day.

In an effort to celebrate Mercy Coworkers on these two special occasions,  Mercy held a Healthcare Week Luncheon, as well as a Flash Mob outside Mercy Hospital.  

Wood Mulch Giveaway

The City of Bentonville’s Compost Facility is pleased to announce a wood mulch giveaway (uncomposted wood chips). The dates of the mulch giveaway are May 21st through May 25th, 2013. Wood mulch will be available during normal Compost Facility hours.  The Facility is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  A skid-steer loader and operator will be available to load pick-ups and trailers. A wheel loader and operator will be available to load larger vehicles.

War Eagle Promotes Tammy Bennett to General Manager

 

Rogers, AR – War Eagle Mill owner, Elise Roenigk, announced today that Tammy Bennett, an 8-year employee, will become General Manager of both the Mill and Granary operations June 1, 2013.

 

Bennett, 37, grew up in Lowell, AR and worked at the Wal-Mart Information Systems Division for seven years before coming to the Mill in 2005.  She has served in a variety of positions at War Eagle Mill and learned the business from the ground up. For the past year, she has served as the Chief Operating Officer.

Despite cooler than normal temperatures, the floating season is off to a strong start at Buffalo National River.  After the drought conditions in 2012, floaters are thrilled to see the rise in the river level and the number of canoes and kayaks on the river has picked up dramatically.
