Volunteers work to revitalize Siloam Springs City Lake | Community Spirit
Volunteers from the Christian Waterfowlers Association and Boy Scout Troop 232 will be volunteering to clean Siloam Springs’ City Lake Saturday, April 6 20- 13. About 30 volunteers will be working together from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Part of the project includes a lake cleanup of debris and trash along the shoreline and around the dam. Volunteers will also be building and installing bird habitats to encourage nesting at City Lake.
Jon Boles, a volunteer with the Christian Waterfowlers Association said the public/private partnership is necessary since the city does not have adequate staff to maintain the lake. Because the lake falls outside of city limits, focus and manpower gets shifted away to projects within the limits. City of Siloam Springs Parks and Recreation Department does the best they can with limited resources, but relies on groups like the CWA and Boy Scouts to help out.
The schedule of activities for Saturday, April 10th is detailed below. All times are approximate.
