Siloam Springs Man Arrested in Online Sting

A Siloam Springs man has been arrested having sexually explicit online chats with an undercover officer who he believed was a 14-year-old girl.

Michael Rood, 49, was arrested on a Marion County felony warrant for Computer Child Pornography and Unlawful Use of a Communications Device.

Monday night Julisa Majia was inside praying with family and friends when they heard a loud noise in their driveway.

“When you throw a baseball through a window that`s how it sounded,” says Majia

Majia says that`s when a neighbor came knocking on their door to say there car was just shot at.

“And then we checked and the back mirror was all broken  and he told us that they were three guys behind the truck one was driving and had a gun, like a pellet gun and they were shooting around the neighborhood, only on one side.”

Man Arrested for Forging Dead Mother's Checks

A Springdale man is facing charges for allegedly using checks stolen from his dead mother.

Police arrested Timothy Brent Goodman, 23, on 44 counts of Forgery 2nd Degree Tuesday.

Lt. Kevin Lewis says over the last two weeks, Goodman forged multiple checks at the Harp's stores in Springdale, Fayetteville, Rogers and Centerton, Harbor Freight Tools in Springdale and The Hardware Store in Fayetteville.

Benton County Murder Suspect Bites Transport Deputy

According to Captain Chris Sparks with the Benton County Sheriff's Office, murder suspect Huong Truong, 29, became "irate" and bit one of the transport deputies on Monday.

Capt. Sparks says after her scheduled hearing, Truong was seated in the courtroom and began talking loudly and was being generally disruptive. Capt. Sparks says when she refused to quiet down, they moved her to a holding area in the courthouse where she became even louder and more irate.

Springdale Police Investigate Vehicle Break-Ins at Child Daycare Centers

Springdale Police are investigating multiple vehicle break-ins at Child Daycare Centers. Police say the break-ins occurred on Jan. 27 while the parent takes the child inside the center.

According to Springdale police, purses and other valuables were taken. 

Police suspect a red or maroon Toyota van with a Colorado license of 478XPF. Anyone who locates this van is encouraged to contact the Springdale Police Department at (479) 751-4542.    

Police say this appears to be an on-going problem across the southern United States.

Three Girls Taken into Custody for Cyber Bullying in Bentonville

Three more Bentonville students were taken into custody for their connection to an explicit Twitter account Thursday, according to police.

The students were all females and included a 16-year-old from Bentonville, a 16-year-old Lowell, and a 17-year-old from Bella Vista, according to Chief Jon Simpson.

Chief Simpson says the girls are responsible for making harassing comments and posts to @BurnBook10.
