Shrimp Boil Kicks off 3rd Fridays in Rogers

The 2013 3rd Friday series in Downtown Rogers will kick off on May 17 with a community shrimp boil and live music on the Frisco Stage from 5-9 p.m., presented by Premium Brands NWA and Miller Lite. Activities will be located at Frisco Park, located at First and Walnut streets.

 

Respect for Law Day, May 11

The Rogers Optimist Club and Brandon Williams Foundation are proud to present our annual “Respect For Law Day” in hopes of instilling a strong respect of law through our local children. This event will be held on Saturday, May 11th 2013 from 10:00 a.m. through2:00 p.m. in front of the Bekart Plant, located just East of Sam’s Club on Hwy 102.

Mother’s Day Celebrated With Blossoms, Bows

Children will have the opportunity to plant and decorate something special for mom this Mother’s Day at the 6th Annual Blossoms & Bows on Saturday, May 11, at the Bella Vista Library, 11 Dickens Place.

 

The free event, which will be from 10 a.m. to noon, is sponsored by the Bella Vista Village Property Owners Association, Nature’s Calling and the library.

 

ER Kids Fair & Health Expo, May 4

Siloam Springs Regional Hospital (SSRH) will host its first ER Kids Fair & Health Expo for the whole family from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, May 4 on the hospital grounds – 603 N. Progress Ave.

“Saturday’s fair and health expo will have vendors and screenings for both children and adults,” said SSRH Marketing and Business Development Director Cathy Davis. “This year, we really wanted to have an event that catered to the whole family. And when CEO Kevin Clement mentioned an ER kids fair – it was a perfect fit.”

37th Annual Bentonville Farmers Market Season Opens on Saturday

The Bentonville Farmers Market opens its 37th season on the downtown Square on Saturday, April 27th from 7:00 am – 1:00 pm.  This producer only market includes over 60 vendors offering vegetables, fruit, beef, pork, chicken, lamb, eggs, cow cheese, goat cheese, organic produce, baked goods, gluten free baked goods and various high quality craft items.  Those vendors will set up around the Square and on both sides of NE 2nd Street.  Produced by Downtown Bentonville, Inc.

Prescription Drug Take Back Event Scheduled in Siloam Springs

The City of Siloam Springs Police Department has announced a Prescription Drug Take Back Event for Saturday, April 27 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Residents may turn in unused or old prescription or over the counter medications to the Siloam Springs Police Department Booth at the Dogwood Festival. This booth is located in City Park near University and Ashley, the same spot they occupied last year.

Sugar Creek Astronomical Society to Host “Astronomy Day”

The members of Sugar Creek Astronomical Society and students and faculty at Northwest Arkansas Community College will be hosting Astronomy Day 2013 at Hobbs State Park – Conservation Area on Saturday, April 20th.  The event is designed for children and adults alike.

     According to Sugar Creek Club president, Jack McDaniel, “We want to share our passion for amateur astronomy with everyone that is interested or curious.  We will have day and night programs tailored for everyone: kids, adults, families.”
