Newbery Award Winning Author – Christopher Paul Curtis to Speak at FPL

Christopher Paul Curtis, Newbery Award winning author, will speak at the Fayetteville Public Library on Thursday, March 20th at 1pm in the Children’s Library. The author talk is free and open to the public and school groups.

Volunteers Needed for American Cancer Society Relay for Life

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life® is looking for committee members to be a part of the 2014 Relay For Life of Washington County. People interested in being a part of a committee will be a part of the community's biggest effort to fight cancer.

I Love Lucy Live on Stage takes NWA back to the 1950s!

Walton Arts Center is proud to present I Love Lucy Live on Stage as part of the 2013-2014 Proctor & Gamble Broadway series. The show will have seven performances running from Tuesday, Feb. 4-Sunday, Feb. 9. One Man Lord of the Rings brings Middle-earth to NWA

Walton Arts Center is excited to welcome One Man Lord of the Rings for two performances on Saturday, February 1 at 4 and 8pm. Astronomy Presentation at Bentonville Public Library

Astronomy Presentation at Bentonville Public Library

Dr. Katherine Auld, Astronomer, Solar System Ambassador with NASA/JPL and Adjunct Faculty Member in the Science Department of Northwest Arkansas Community College will present the NASA program Seasons and Tides at the Library Lessons for Homeschoolers Program on Monday, January 6 at 1:00PM in the Walmart Room of Bentonville Public Library.  Students participating in this engaging, hands-on program will learn of the relationship between the sun, the earth and the moon.  

Registration is not required for this free program.

Winter Wonderland Dance at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital

Siloam Springs Regional Hospital’s (SSRH) Senior Circle Chapter will host a Winter Wonderland Dance from 6-9 p.m. the evening of Friday, Dec. 13 featuring the Jack Mitchell Big Band inside the Cherokee Casino’s Qualla Ballroom.

Free ACT Prep Workshop in Bentonville

The Bentonville Public Library (BPL) will be conducting an ACT Prep Workshop for students preparing for the national exam. The workshop is modeled after the University of Arkansas College Access Initiative ACT Prep Program.

Students will participate in a classroom workshop where they will learn about motivating testing strategies, overcoming testing anxieties, and the overall content of the ACT. Students will use retired ACT exams for this workshop to better understand the curriculum of the test.
